RS thats what i have. same power, 5 speed tranny, less the weight. the rs is great. unless you want all the power stuf (window, locks) the rs is the lightest plus you get the same power(hp and tq)as other evos. but if you just want the look se has that sweet lip, mr has the VG. both have the wing rs doesnt. rs is cheaper but you still get the power, brakes.

i'd take an rs you can always add the other stuff later

Both are good. You can save some money from buying the RS, and use the money to beef it up.

Why not read the other threads that have already asked that question? You'd then get the pros and cons of each, and you would already know that getting the SE is the best choice.

Next time, read the rules before posting, because the rules state that you must search before posting. Also, fix the spelling of your location.

I was at this same dilema, go with the SE and SSL package or go with the MR. I opted for the MR. I am more into power and never really wanted a sunroof so I went with the MR and I am very satisfied with my choice. Thinking back I am sure I would have rather had the MR and would have been a little upset at myself had I gone with the SE. So far with 7K on the odo I am very pleased, no problems at all other than the tiny little stone chips on the front of the hood(which everyone gets).
It's your choice, ask yourself what are your goals with your EVO, are you more into looks, or power. both are excellent cars, either direction you can have a very fast car whether it be SE or MR. I personally think the MR package is a good bargin for the price.
And don't mind the older members that rag you about your posts. I know the search function should be used for technical questions but subjective issues like this need a fresh question/ look to ascertain what others think. And also searching gets bogged down with other non-specific topics coming up in the search results. I miss-spell words from time to time we are not all like that poster so dont get the wrong impression about this site. We are freindly and want to help others out not constantly LOOK for questionable issues that make their way onto the boards.
Make it your choice....MR or SE....you can't go wrong...

After driving my friend's 5 speed Evo for 100+ miles, I realize my 6 speed MR has less of a tranny whine.

I drove the SE and my MR and I like the 6 speed better. People say that the 6 speed isn't as strong but it's usually followed by well so and so blew 4th when he was at the track. So unless you're racing at a track just pick which one you like better. Looking at KBB, there is no SE choice... just RS, IX or MR and the MR will always book out more.
