octane level at gas station.

is there a kit to test the level of octane at the pump before you put it in your car?

have anyone of you had a problem because the product you thought you got was a lower grade(oct lev.) but you paid for premium?

i always save my reciept so that i can sue their *** when my car gets f'up cuz they didnt sell me the right product.

i tried searching a bit but didnt find anything on octane testers.

your state should regularly test for the oct. level but im always afraid.

am i just paranoid? LOL

If you were sold a lower grade than what you were told you were getting, then you will know pretty soon after leaving the gas station, if not before... And you mentioned that you always save receipts, which almost always notes the grade you bought. When you start getting knock and see that your receipt says you were sold what you thought was the proper grade, then you can sue the station.

But, I have never seen that happen, ever. So, I would not be too worried about it. The station owners know they would lose a lot of business if word got out about something like that. Besides, they usually break even or lose money on gas sales. Their profit comes from the stuff you buy in the convenience store.

Well I know if a gas station sells shady gas, because after I tank up with 93, the car runs like cr@p.

There is a BP on my way to work I tanked up with 93 once and at idle the car wasn't right. The RPM kept dropping. I know not the tank up over there anymore.

Some people put a knock sensor into their car. If gas is crap, you'll notice it right away

NH 93 Octane Shell V-Power ftw......No BP around here, mostly just crappy Mobil and Exxon s$#t gas..........

ever notice that there are very few "gas station only" places.......the big profits do come in from food + other than gas sales......
