So I was passing this jerkoff today on the road in 1st gear, but forgot how fast it revs and I'm pretty sure I hit my fuel cut... I heared my exhaust fart out a "pop" as I redlined it to 8k or so, and I immediately backed off the gas.

Question: did I just hurt my engine?

 

Nope. Fuelcut is there to prevent you from causing any further damages. Only thing you damaged was your ego :]

 

You just hit the rev limiter. Technically it's fuel cut, but we tend to think of fuel cut as too much boost on an untuned car or too much knock on a car.

 

^^ so are you saying that i did knock? Probably wouldn't know unless i had a knock light or something right?
