Snarl, wheeeeeeeeeeer, spit-aash

Well it has been a long five years waiting for this day, stretching my patience to its limits, just waiting, watching, planning when to purchase the super car slayer. Now that day is here, all I can say is ..........(that’s just the thing, I’m kinda speechless, but my grin speaks volumes). Here I was breaking my neck every time an EVO IX would pass by, not that I didn’t already have its rival under my wing, but my heart lay else where.

In 2002 I was anxiously awaiting the launch for this phenomenon on wheels, but soon as it came out, I was one of those guys who did not like the new iteration. The VII to me was what I had always pictured hitting US shores, although that would have never happened being that would go against its very creed. So I spent two summers having tail happy fun with my Roos…STi-ru that is. But the hunger for a precision tool with no limits was just slowly intensifying I wanted it now.
Sure enough just when I sold my second STiRu my contract ended and it had to be a dream deferred. Soon as I got back on my feet financially, I was spending nights on EvoM sales forums and all car sale sites waiting to catch a glimpse of a good deal with the specs I wanted. Sure enough two weeks later, it caught my eye…An ad, on EvoM car for sales section with no pictures?….but it had the kind of package I was looking for…Mind you I have never purchased a car without looking at it or test driven it…(yes folks, I test drove the STi before I bought it in 04 when it first came out). In my mind I thought if this deal is for real, I hope he does not put up any pics…we all know the kinda attention we get once we have pics up…doesn’t guarantee a sale but sure does get the hit counter spinning. Could sort of relate with Golum‘PrEcioUSsss!!’. The car was up north and I was in DC, I contacted the guy, made arrangements and made my way up there this weekend.

We car enthusiasts have at some point been to the used car stealerships and have been shown the A-lot cars like the Ms, AMGs and the 911s, and in most cases we settle for a little number with an (i) or a (c) at the end. Which seems like the reasonable choice at the time. Well this was just the opposite, this was the real deal Shaquille o Neal of Evos the BR350 with SSL package. Everything was well maintained, clean and detailed. I couldn’t believe the condition it was in, it was as if it was just pulled off the stealership lot. I took it for a test drive start the engine, you notice the slightly louder but deeper pitch of the exhaust, pull out of the drive way on the road and it intake snarls and the faint hint of spooling resounds from the engine bay….ok…hold it…..hold it let the road clear let the cars pass……..…WOOOOooohoooo I have yet to be in a vehicle with so much control and shameless power at the same time. I have been in a IX before and this felt like no other IX (stock), heck I have been in modified VIIIs with bolt on mods and flashes. But THIS, this was something else. I have yet to go and see what its true potential is on the track, so bear with me…I shall post more as I get further opportunities to unleash this savage beast.

Yeh I would not count out the for sale forum here on EvoM, and the value it brings to its purchasing members.
