Yeah...the K&N typically has too much oil. But, you can just leave it sitting out for a day or two and that will take care of it. Or, some people say to wrap it in a old pillow case and swing it around for awhile. I have the K&N and like it.

Not sure about the Ralliart. It's twice as much as the K&N, but it's made by Mitsu for this car specifically so it could possibly work a little better.

No experience with filters on the Evo but in the GT3, oiled filters caused running issues be coating the film resistor in the MAF. So most people, including me, used paper filters. Generally though, unless the filter is over oiled, it shouldn't create an issue. I used ITG filters in my M cars with no issues, these are an oiled foam but the oil is very thick.

Don't know anything about the Ralliart but it looks to be a high-flow one use paper filter (and an expensive one).

Check out Works. They make really great products. www.worksevo.com. Also, www.gruppe-s.com sells ralliart filters. Or www.lancershop.com

Ralliart is reusable. You're supposed to blow compressed air through it to clean it out. Different from the cleaning/oiling process for the K&N. But, the Ralliart is still a little expensive.

so wait, how is the works filter then? same as the kn or same as the raliart?
if the works is better then kn while as good as raliart, then works would be the better choice
