Future of EVO IX
Future of EVO IX
I really want to get an EVO IX but I just can't afford it right now, I will probably get one in four years when I graduate from college (hopefully) and have a good paying career. But my question is will EVO IX's still be popular or will they be forgotten after the release of the EVO X
what is, will it, can it, has it, is it, when, where, how, why, what is?????????????
How about you wait and see as the guessing thing is , well............ Just that, a guess.

Who cares if it's popular or not? If you like it and want it, then you can get it when you can. My suggestion is to get what you want. If you want something popukar, then wait until you are ready, then get whatever popular then.

I'm in the same boat as you, except I'm waiting on my lease to end on my E90 and I'm waiting on the Evo X, but I figure by the time its out, so will the new M3 and the GT-R. I'm waiting on the test drives, I said I wanted a Supra when I was 13, 5 years later and I still want it (although I don't think I'd buy one, they're not that practical and pretty expensive, last I remember they were like 24K for a 93 w/ 75K miles...)
I suggest you make another thread with a poll entitled "What car should I buy in four years?"
It's really the only logical solution to a personal decision to be made four years from now.

I don't think you have to worry about the IX being forgotten. There are things about it that make very unique to other EVO generations, for instance the 4G63T and MIVEC. Also I love the EVO IX and think as of now it is the best EVO model, but I would love to still have a EVO V, so if I and others still find an interest in older EVO models, I think the same interest will be there for the EVO IX when the EVO X, XI, XII, XIII, and etc., eventually come out.
i don't think it really matters what happens in 4 years. if you can't afford the car, you can't afford the car. why worry about whether it's 'popular', if you don't even have the option of purchasing now?
you can't make a decision for a car 4 years in the future. technology and research advance too fast. the engineering of the car will change, gas may lose out to green, new laws and new restrictions will apply, and exterior styling changes drastically over 4 years.
