Fluid Check hot or cold?

Anyone know which fluids are supposed to be checked with the engine warm and which are checked with it cold?

I tried searching but I did not find anything definitive.

Also, is there anything else that should be checked periodically other than fluids?

The manual is a little sketchy on details.

And yes, I know this is a pretty basic question, that is why I put it in the Newb section.

Thanks Much

Personally, I do not check any fluids while hot. As long as you check them in the same condition each time, it shouldn't matter. Either do hot or cold. the only drastic change is coolant hot vs cold. All others are relatively similar.
