Considering Buying an EVO
^^^^ Thank you for your honest input. That is what I am looking for. So I should expect to put a tranny in soon.. Off to research how much tranny's are..lol

I would suggest taking a good mechanic (if you know one that does work on Evo's is better) and getting him to inspect it before you buy, it'll be worth the 300-500.00 he prolly would charge.
Couple of things.
First, drive it and listen for any weird noises such as piston slap, whining (t-case), suspension noises etc...
Second, take it to a respectable performance shop (or you can do it yourself if you know how and have the simple equipment) to do leak down and compression tests.
Third, check the oil for any shavings etc...
These three should give you a pretty good idea
