From what I know, the IX plugs are already 1 heat range cooler than the VIII plugs. They are also iridium, which resist electrode erosion and have much longer lives than copper plugs. If you aren't seeing any misfires, I say keep them.

I think a good rule of thumb would be to just change them out anually.

plugs are suppose to last over 30-60k. even copper ones.

Until there is a cheaper alternative to the Iridium IX plugs I'd say to pull them and check them every oil change. There is a lot of information online about reading plugs along with pictures.

When they do release the cheaper NGK copper plugs feel free to change them as you see fit. No one can tell you when to change them as that is up to how they read on YOUR car. But checking them every oil change is easy and will certainly let you know if something is amiss.

If you are going to take the time to pull them out you might as well drop new ones in. The crush washer will be compromised with frequnt removal of the plugs. Or so I think.

Copper Plugs dont last too long on turbo cars. You'll be lucky to get 10K off copper plugs with our cars.

I highly doubt you'll have any problems with removing and reinstalling them every 3000 miles. And why replace something that costs so much when you don't need to? Checking your plugs is like checking your oil. If you don't do it every once in awhile you might not be able to spot a problem before it causes damage.

There is no specific frequency or mileage for checking plugs. It all depends on your driving habits, how aggressive your tune is, and how much leaded race gas you are running.

Not entirely a true statement as I said it depends on a few different factors. However the good thing about the copper plugs is they are very cheap so you don't feel like your dipping into your bank account to replace them when need be.
