Defi Gauges Install, need a lttle help
Defi Gauges Install, need a lttle help
Ok, so first of all, I've searched and most of this post is to confirm things before I start splicing wires.
My Defi CUII just came in along with Boost, Oil Press, and Water Temp Amber BF gauges. When installing CUII I searched and found that on my IX I should tap the following locations.
Red- Constant power
Black - Ground
Orange - Cigarette Lighter
White - Ashtray Lamp
Sound good??
Oil pressure gauge needs an adapter to fit in the block, anyone have the part number, or even better a place on Long Island that may have it in stock?
Boost gauge. I have an MR so there is already a tap from the vacuum line. Is this T fitting the one right on the left side of the intake manifold?
Water Temp. Just to double check, I can splice the adaptor in anywhere, correct? Any recommendations?
Lastly, has anyone ordered a longer wire to connect the gauges if they will be far apart? I'm pretty sure Defi makes a wire that is longer(in more than one size) but I'm not sure where to find them. I saw in the forums I should check Edoperformance. Anyone ever order this, or know where to find it?
I realize this is lot, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are a couple of tips.
If you still have the factory sports meter kit, it came with a white "piggy back" harness that connects the radio to the radio harness. You'll see that the sports meter kit is tapped into it. Ignition, Illumination, and constant 12V can all be tapped into this harness rather than cut up your factory wires.
As for your boost gauge, I used the vacuum line you're referring to and it worked just fine.
I've got a Defi BF boost and CUII ready to be installed this weekend.

I just ordered these from this company today...if you Oil Pressure didn't come with a sensor you can get one here...also they have adapters...here's the link for the adapter for Defi:

I would be harder to do for the water temp but this is an option from the same place:

Not entirely sure but I think the Boost Gauge T-adapter is to the left of the engine...on the side of the cam gears
and I don't know about the availability of the longer wires...sorry
