Question audio help

I just had a jvc head unit (nothing special) and a 300watt kicker monoblock amp with a 12 inch sony sub.... It sounded great. I loved it. All of a sudden I hear static over everthing? I have tried 3 Ipods a few disks ect.. I dont know what it could be even brought it back to where it was installed and had a new head unit put in. Any advice out there? possible bad ground? car audio is not my thing. Please help me out

if you changed the headunit and still get static, I'd start by looking for bad grounds

thanks

Its my fault I knew better than to let kids at circuit city put this stuff in. I dont want to go back to them to try and have them troubleshoot it. I am leaning toward a bad ground thanks. I don't really know Evo's all that well I come from a long line of mustangs where the electrical architecture is pretty simple. Any other suggestions you could think of let me know.

Okay, since it was CC...they probably charged you $25/30 for the factory conversion harness. Yes? Well, the HU wiring should be fine then. From there, check all the wiring headed into the amp. And yes, they probably didn't ground it to the chassis...probably just metal and didn't even scrap the paint off either. Start there and report back!
Good luck!
