20w-50

anyone use 20w-50 on their turbo rides? is the engine wear protection worth it?

This is heavy viscosity stuff. My main concerns would be the flow properties on cold starts and power robbing drag on crankshaft rotation. I'd only consider a 50W in extreme, high temp, high rev endurance applications.

Edit: I tried 5W-50 M1 as a summer oil here in the tropics, but gave up on it, as it caused lifter noise.
