Newbie - Considering 2009 Lancer GTS
I am extremely interested in the new 09 Lancer GTS models with the 2.4l engine.
I was at the dealer yesterday and expressed my interest in a new 09 when they come out in a few months. The dealer asked what options and color I was interested in and said he would make sure to order one that matched my desired car without any obligation to buy. I told him I'd like either a dark grey or black GTS loaded with the Tech Package, Sun/Sound Package, and a 5 Spd transmission.
I really love the car, but I am also considering some used cars in the same $20k price range, such as the Acura TL, BMW 325i, or Audi A4. I know buying a used manual car can be problematic though depending on who the last driver was. Even though the Lancer isnt as luxurious it does fit my price range and has a number of features I am in love of and of course the peace of mind of that nice long warranty.
I am a graduating Senior and have just signed a job offer for a corporate IT position at the Sylvania headquarters in Danvers MA, about 30 mins north of Boston. As far as I know, Sylvania (a part of Siemens) has a discount partner program with Mitsubishi, so I should be able to get a grand or two off a new car. This is also a major plus, pushing me towards the new Lancer.
I do have a couple questions for all of you, please excuse me if these have been answered elsewhere because I am new to the forums:
Does anyone know for CERTAIN that the new 09 GTS lancer will have the rumored Xenon/HID headlights? What about a projected 0-60 time with the 5spd?
How much does it cost to have the seats in a Lancer, leather upholstered, and would that add to the resale value?
Is there a regional (Boston) group of Lancer owners?
I have plenty other questions, but will leave just these for now. Thanks in advance for any help.

Personally, that's my problem 'cause I want the 2.4 L, 168 HP, but I want the 2008 "Sun & Sound" package, I don't want leather seats.
Does anyone know if I could get a 2009 Lancer GTS with "Sun & Sound" package WITHOUT the leather seats?
Thank you
The 2008 GTS "Sun & Sound" package will change to "Sun, Sound & Leather" package for 2009.

^^ How do know it will be changed to Sun, Sound & Leather? This is the first I have heard that they would be providing the option with leather seats. Did you find the information online somewhere or at a dealer? Let me know, this could sway my decision towards the lancer even more.
i own a 2008 gts and an iphone. the bluetooth system hooked up in minutes and works flawlessly.
however, i really wish i had waited for the 2009 ralliart. from what i'm hearing, the dealers are offering horrendous trade-in values on the new lancers.

A Mitsubishi Motors salesman, near where I live, will take pics of the new 2009 Lancer GTS leather seats and he will send them to me by the beginning of next week... I will post them here as soon as I get them.
Minutes to hook up the bluetooth? My brother who occasionally gets to "rent" new Mitsus brought over the new GTS one time. Took a little more effort than I'd like to hook up the bluetooth. We never did get it to connect automatically once we get into the car and with both his and my phones together.
I much prefer the Parrot Bluetooth speakerphone kits (3rd party unit that integrates into your existing stereo system). Practically invisible, caller ID, and works whenever I get in the car and start it. Multiple phone function too.

my parents i have a 2008 gts fully loaded with all kinds of stuff that i wish my VIII had. they got a good deal on it for like 18 or 19k. i drove it a few times and it wasn't to bad, no where near the jet fighter that the evo's are but its a good car with some nice features.
