How much will 400hp cost?

Hey all, I know some of you have done already so I need your suggestions. I am thinking about 400bhp would be the max I would go with my Evo. Can those that have been through help me as to how much it'll cost me with parts, labor and dyno? I can put some minor parts myself but when it comes to cams and belts, I don't really want to mess those up. Thanks!

400bhp is really not that hard or expensive to achieve. with intake, boost controller, o2 housing, exhaust a really good tune, you will probably be at around
380-400bhp which is about 320-330whp and you could probably do all that stuff yourself. That would run about $1200-1500 depending on the parts you go with.

Re-read his post, "bhp". It's not hard to obtain, a little more difficult with an evo8.

it is clear that he is talking about bhp he states that in the original post.

400bhp is not that difficult to achieve even on an 03-04VIII let alone the 05VIII which has the 10.5hotside as oppose to the 9.8

For 400 BHP, about 320-340WHP on a Dynodynamics should do the trick.

BHP numbers sound impressive to non-car people. To car folks, they'll just think you're afraid of saying your actual WHP number.

400 wheel

Well i went to Road Race Engineering and I got my work there because i have heard they do great work which i have to say they do. I am always pleased to go to them. Well anyways, i got turbo back exhaust, boost control, 720cc injectors, cosworth cams 272, walbro fuel pump, and i was putting down on the dyno 340 wheel and i had spent after dyno and everything just 2300 dollars and i have to tell you it was god damn worth it the power difference was huge.

Thanks for your generous response. Sorry I wasn't being accurate on what I was asking for but some of you manage to put it both ways. I'm guessing around $2500 should do it. Anyways, thanks again!

intake
MBC or GM BCS
Full 3" TBE w/ no cat
SS o2 housing
port hotside
ported exhaust manifold
hks 280 cams
walbro 255 fuel pump
and a tune!

That should honestly get you there, do ported TB/intake manifold as well and you'll be in *extra* good shape, IX turbo, alky injection then you will be....where my car is! That will be like 450-475bhp when tuned.

Do ALL your bolt-ons, cams, tune and maybe some meth injection. You should be spending $4000-$5000 roughly.

Wow, I've read anything from 1200 dollars to 5000 dollars from you guys. I say you should be able to achieve 400BHP for about $2000-$4000. 2 thousand if you buy used from the forums and 4 thousand if you buy new.
