WRX owner dropping in. Possibly making the switch...
I'm going to be roaming around the boards to see if this is something I really want to do. I can't exactly sell the Subbie as I have WAY too much invested in it and refuse to take the loss. I'm trying to pawn it off on the wife so I can build something else so we'll see how that goes. I'll either go old school EVO or build a V8 FI car.
The WRX:

It's one of (top 3) highest whp privately owned Ej205 powered cars in the country.
Built motor, AEM, dogbox tranny, etc...
See you guys around.

The biggest thing for me is the power those 4g63's are capable of. All comparisons of EVO's and STi's completely stop when you really get into modding engine internals and throwing on huge turbo's. I mean... my car makes great power... but there's NO reason a 500whp car should be anywhere close to setting records, even on a 2.0l. I'll go old school EVO if I do swap tho. I love the older bodies. That or hop on the big displacement FI band wagon. I'd like to come close to doubling the power I'm making now. Only issue now is choosing HOW to do so.

FYI if you want to come close as possible to 1000whp I do suggest you don't get a stroker motor. The higher rev limits of the 2.0L make it easier to create high horsepower with the large gt42r turbo's.
To even do it your going to need a whole host of things to make it happen
Fully built 2.0L
Valve springs or a race head (ported would be better :P) after all you want to spin this to 9500rpm
GT42r turbo
LARGE fueling system twin pump for sure
Racing large diameter intercooler
Tail BOV
I'm not sure of the injector setup maybe twin rail
VSR intake manifold will help make the topend
AEM management system using Speed density setup
COP ignition setup MW box
I'm probably missing a whole host of things but this list by its own is quite expensive.

I didn't realize the stroker motor wouldn't rev to 9k+. Makes sense tho. You'd think with a lightened rotating assembly you'd get there. Owell... I have no problems running the bottle.
In bold... my Subaru has. Not to mention almost 7k worth of tranny. I understand how pricey this gets. Been there, done that.

IE Buschur, AMS
Good luck with your future builds
