You know, now that I'm a parent I'll make sure my kids first car is a SLOW and safe car. But when I think about it I drove a z28 camaro (older one I bought myself) from I was 15 (permit) till I was 19. I think all the Ohio winters in a rwd sports car gave me the driving skills i got today.

**** when i was 15 i was driving around in my dady's 427 78 rallysport camaro. that **** was fast and im still alive with no accidents. best way to learn is buy the car and learn from ur mistakes. oh and dont get caught. haha. but there def is a lot of good info on this forum. i learned alot of stuff just by reading. good luck and dont kill urself

I seriously am tired of this stupid stereotype.

to many threads of how people sweep right off the road in rain/snow/ice.....
Got my evo when I was 17, and I've yet to sweep right off the road in rain/snow/ice. Guess why? No... really, guess... oh, I'll just tell you. How old you are NOTHING to do with your ability to rationalize a safe or unsafe situation.

So guess what. If he gets the car... good. If he doesn't crash it... good for him. If he does crash it... he gets what he deserves for driving like an idiot (regardless of age). I fail to see how any of this effects you? Oh, and if you're gonna say something like... well he might hurt someone else, I'd rather him be in a fast reacting car like an evo than a slow reacting car like a neon.

Lesson being..when you're young, you should be driving a Chevy Cobalt, Cavalier, Nissan Maxima, Altima, Honda Civic, Accord, Toyota Camry, Corolla. Something small, economical, and safe.
Sounds like that lesson is about when YOU were young, not him...

im 19 have had my evo since i turned 18... browsed the boards and collected a good amount of info! worked for a year straight got my down payment and decided to go with an EVO9 due to MIVEC and a few other reasons. realized south coast mitsu was the cheapest place to buy. didnt want to get a used evo beacuse who knows how it was driven! i mean it is an EVO!

take ur time gather some info get some expecience behind the wheel and then maybe you will know what evo you want by then.

i went from 3 mustangs before my evo and i never looked back..
