How much power is too much for the MR?

Just like the title says.. how much hp/torque is too much for an MR 4th gear? Is there any option other than a 5sp tranny that could strengthen 4th??

Well I am pushing 400whp and 350 torque using a Buschur 3065 kit with an Aquamist going in next week. I havent broke it yet but I cant say that I am not trying.

500+ call it a day and get a 5 speed. Also when making more power you feel like your shifting right at the joy moment.

I have heard that a good aftermarket trans cooler helps keep the heat down and therefore you won't overheat 4th. Otherwise don't do too much auto X in it and it should hold up, at least for awhile.

I would say asking the people on this forum is "research".

there is never too much power, the problem is not enough traction.

Your transmission is designed for stock power levels. It may be over engineered and handle more, but there is no quantitative value to answer your question. Someone with 400 wheel torques could make the tranny last forever and someone else it may last a month.
