About to pick up an EVO8
in the next two weeks i am about to pick up an EVO 8 i cant afford a 9 or a 10, but for the 8 which of the models are best and are there any problems or bad things about the evo 8 like how does the tranny hold up. im not going big turbo, just exhaust,EM,Intake, maybe a new FMIC and what not. they are very cheap in my area only 18-20k with 19k or less miles!!
there a great car dude good luck.....i love the 9's but the 8 is sick to. to be honest i dont no to much bout the trannys and diffs....or the difference but u should be alright not to many ppl loose the tranny....just watch the clutch.
and good luck dude welcome to the family when u get one.

and one more question on innsurrance, can i put this car through as a Lancer? b/c when i went to get qoutes they didnt have the option for Lancer Evolution, i tried progressive, all state, statefarm, geico and non of them had the option for evolution so i had to choose lancer and monthly innsuranc would only be 105 a month

Progressive will be your cheapest in PA at like 205-240 a month
i have to agree with the VIN. when i was buying my evo X without a VIN (waiting for delivery) the quote was like $550 a year, when i gave my VIN number it went up to $655 for the year.
I like the 8's personally. the 9 is a great car, but the short geared tranny makes it a pita for in town driving. the 8 has longer gears. the 9 does givey ou mivec though, which helps alot with power, i guess it all depends on what you wna tot do with the car.
