Buying Modded EVO

Hey guys,

I know there's tons of threads about this kind of thing but I'm interested in a EVO IX SE with 5k miles that has the following mods

HKS HIPERMAX RS COILOVERS
CUSCO F TITANIUM STRUT BAR
CUSCO R OS STRUT BAR W/ V BRACE
CUSCO TRUNK BRACE
DC SPORTS DOWNIPE
BLITZ TURBO TIMER
BLITZ NURSPEC CATBACK
BLITZ DROP IN FILTER
HKS BOV W/HARDPIPE

It's in another state so I would have to buy a plane ticket. If it falls through I would only be out 300-400 dollars plus I could use it as a vacation.

It is owned by an older guy which is good, but with these mods, can be inferred that it was tracked or abused? I know the BOV is crap but other than that,is it a good combo?

Is that suspension really rough?

Thanks

i would say take a vacation and check it out, you could prolly tell if it was tracked or abused by the way he talks about the car, and take it for a spin and see how everything is. but who in this world would start tracking a car at that low of miles ro abusing it, well exept for someone with alot of money. but yeah check it out

As far as Evo's go this one is pretty close to being stock. No tune, no boost controller ect. I say its worth checking out. Have them send you a carfax for the car and ask for the previous owners phone number. It;s not much to ask for considering the distance your traveling.

let us know how it turns out!

Most of the performance parts seem to be handling orientied which leads one to think the car was tracked.

The HKS BOV is something to get rid off ASAP.

You can also check to see the condition of the tires; which can give you an indication if the car was tracked.

Good luck.

So I'm sorta kicking myself since I pu$$y footed around and should have acted quicker because he sold it yesterday. If I would have left last weekend I could have snatched it up.

I did get a weird vibe from him talking on the phone so maybe it's for the better. That and the fact he wanted $25K for it. It puts it in a zone where it's cheap enough due to maybe something is wrong with it and he's trying to unload it or it's just a really good deal. Oh well, maybe I should get a X instead
