Locating the MBC
Locating the MBC
Can anyone tell me where the MBC is located in the engine bay?? I have quite a bit of power now (380-390whp dynojet) and I am only boosting to about 1.4 bar and i just did a conversion, seems a little low. So I want to try to turn in up a little to see what happens

Perhaps I'm missing a piece of the puzzle. If you were tuned with the MBC set where it is now, why do you want to adjust it? BTW, where in the powerband do you see 1.4bar and in which gear?
Are you reading 1.4 bar off the stock mr boost guage? If so, that guage is not in bars, its actually kg/cm2. It turns out to be slightly less than if you measured in bar. I'm having same thing happen to me. My guage maxes at 1.4 but I'm supposed to be peaking at 22 psi. 1.4 turns out to be around 20 I believe.

1. What (PSI) were you tuned for?
2. Where (ie. at what RPM and in which gear) are you seeing 1.4bar or kg/cm3?
As both of you run 6-speeds, you should be looking at the boost spike in 4th gear. Make sure that you're looking at peak boost, as the gauge reacts very quickly and sometimes it's difficult to see exactly where it peaks.
If your boost was set during the course of a tune, you may want to leave it alone. If you lack the cable/laptop to log the ECU, you may want to leave the boost alone, regardless.

the manuel boost controller would be connected to a vacuum line comming off both the wastegate which is located underneath the turbo and if looking straight down into the engine bay from the front of car, and also a barb comming off of the black pipe attached to your turbo outlet, follow those lines and you will find it, i might also suggest since you arent mechanically inclined that you dont touch the boost without calling buschur or having someone datalog your car, turning the boost up on an already tuned car can be very bad depend how much of a safty margin buschur gave you...if i tuned your car i would tell you to not touch it especially since your already making alot of power im assuming on the stock turbo
I would check to see if they mounted it on to the top of the fan,if you have the orginal boost controller it has ablack knob with is hard to see.Now raising the boost up to 22or 23psi i woulld get a diffrent guage like a autometer mechenical one,it's fairly inexpensive and accurate, make sure you adjust the beak boost in 4th gear i would floor it in 3,200 rpm to see were the psi is, then pay attention to the gauge to see were it spikes and tapers too.Don't forget with the stock turbo,if you set the psi at 22,or 23psi it should hold around 20psi by redline.
