i hate threads like this... guy it's your money... you gotta pay for it.. no one from this forum will help you if u can't afford it so why is it that you see it fit that they give you advice...
Some things I took into consideration, even though a X wasn't on the plate for me I'll include what I noticed about it:
-First, what do you have the money for? Figure that out, and call your insurance too. Whatever total you come up with, add 10-15% to that and if you are still comfortable with the number it's a valid choice.
-As listed in the link above, if you buy a used car that is sought after for tuning/modding, well, you better have a shop who knows the cars inside and out who can look at it for you, and have it inspected BEFORE you buy, NO exceptions, or else you might end up in the same **** hole I was in.
-Do you plan on working on the car yourself? If so, have you worked more/only with boxer engines or inline/V engines? I took the STI off my list because I refuse to spend 3 hours changing out spark plugs. Plus, who the **** puts an intercooler on TOP on an engine? To do minor maintenance you need to do a lot more disassembly, which means even taking it to a shop will cost more $$ since it adds to the time the tech spends.
-If the Evo X is on your plate, then you might as well add the higher end Acura sedans, because they have the same feeling, plus the X has a giant sideskirt that hangs off of it, don't mistake it for a step plate. The 9 is loud and fast, the X made sacrifices to be more comfy, make sure you are prepared for hours of loud exhaust on highway trips before getting a 9.
Just make sure you are happy with your decision before you make it, screw what anyone else says, you know what they say about opinions.
what an A$$ hole why you bother replying....if you hate threads like this the guy just looking for some advice if you got stuff like that to say you might as well of just over looked this forum...
Wow my parents had lots of money I had straight As in AP classes in High school, and They bought me an 8 year old Civic with a 4 speed and no AC. My insurance WAS 4k a year in 1993, for just liability, because my mom owned an ACURA NSX, even though I never got to drive it the insurance company made her pay.
If you want a watered down evo get the X. Otherwise get a used one, but as was mentioned before 99 out of 100 evo's are driven hard, so make sure that a mechanic who knows the car looks at it. Or buy a really old one for cheap, and be prepared to replace the entire drive train.
