Should I get a X???

Well Im graduating this year '09. And If i keep my grades up I will possibly get a new car and I was looking into the Evo X GSR. Not sure what color, but I have time to think. Anyways is it worth buying, like how gas is and all, and what about insurane for an 18 year old?

if you care about gas you wouldn't get a evo but they get pretty good mileage. EPA is like 16 in the city but if you don't drive with a lead foot you can prolly get like 18 19 or even 20

hahaha ur seriously asking about insurance for an 18year old male with a +35K car that is sadly known in the insurance industry as a street racing car. good luck with that... it would probably cost a lot of money. good luck though.

If you can afford everything for it, yes.

If you are concerned about mpg & insurance, try going w/the '09 Ralliart.

Smile Your choice at the end.

I personally would not get the Evo X, but then again it's just my opinion. I've been around my Evo IX MR for a while and I absolutely love everything about it. It's a hardcore driver's car. If I were you, I would take your time and research a variety of cars that suit your interest. Even check out cars that compete with the Evo X. My first car out of high school was a blue RX8. The only thing I regretted about it was that I got an automatic transmission. I have learned from my mistakes and I now have my second car which is the Evo. I have no regrets because I compared and researched for about a whole entire year. You may not wait that long, but I truly suggest you keep researching and test-driving a variety of cars, even if you don't think you may get the car you test drive. Choose the car that makes you smile every time you hear the name, every time you look at it, every time you sit in the driver's seat, and everytime you start the engine. You just gotta love cars...

If money is of no issue, do it, I don't see why not.

If you are worried about cost for things such as gas and insurance then you probably should keep looking.

The car is not super reliable and it will eat through tires oil and fuel.

If your parents want to buy it for you then let them, but I doubt you'll get it. The EVO is everything a teenager wants, which is everything a parent dislikes. Poor gas mileage (when compared to other vehicles), fast, and expensive.

^ That's a pretty presumptuous statement. "I doubt you'll get it." LOL. There are alot of kids out there that have parents that buy the car they want, tons.

Well I have to pay for mine myself .

But I'm going to wait until the ralliart comes out, Spetemberish) to make a decision on evo x vs ralliart, or a used viii or ix.

Besides by then there will still be a few evo x gsr's left and they will probably be discounted a little more than now.

An IX would be a good choice!

EDIT: How are you paying for a $35k car by yourself as an 18 year-old?! Then once you get into insurance and gas you are going to be in trouble. I'm guessing you have a pretty good job and work a ton of hours, but this is kind of a huge investment to be making especially with the whole college thing right around the corner. But if you can afford it cheers to you! Its an amazing car and I hope to purchase one myself some day!
