Newbie to the EVO Scene

Newbie to the EVO scene, was previous a subaru fan and now turned over to EVO. Will be purchase an 06 MR, is there any thing in particular I should be looking at when buying a used 06MR? I will be importing the car out of the country so want to avoid any issues with the car.

If you will mod it to 500whp+, buy a GSR or RS.

If not, congratz on the purchase.

"Evilbada" means that the 6 speed tranny isn't as durable as the 5 speed in the GSR's if you decide to mod your Evo to have very high horsepower. I bought my MR brand new and I have no regrets and no problems. I refuse to believe that the MR's transmission is lesser than the 5 speed.

Well I am basically looking to mod it around 450 whp. I have been reading that the 5 speed is a better choice then the 6 speed. But I pefer to have a 6 speed over the 5 as I drive more on the highway then in the city.

that doesnt help... it gets worse mileage on the highway... the gear ratios are shorter on the 6 speed versus the 5 so its pretty pointless
