New to evo, need to make some mods

Hi, I got a 2003 Evo VIII in July '08 from the second owner. Looks like it had been modded a bit by the first owner, some of the mods I would like to change...

It has a 4" exhaust that is loud as hell, I am considering installing a stock exhaust or if possible just using a silencer, at the moment I can not tell the make of the exhaust. Is there anything special I should know before I buy a silencer and install it?

I think the front end has been lowered. Now I live in New Hampshire so the roads are pretty bad here (I've scraped bottom a few times) and I don't want my Intercooler to turn into a snowplow. How would I go about raising the front end? Would I have to get new suspension or is there a way to adjust it?

Thanks!

First off I would have a shop check to see if your car has an ecu flash for the parts on the car. If your looking for a stock exhaust people usually give them away on here....just search.
As for your ride height, are you on coilovers or lowering springs? If their coilovers they can be adjusted, but if it's lowering springs you need to go back to stock springs if you want the car higher.
I would try and find a member on here who lives in NH to take a look at your car if your not sure what im talking about.

The car looks clean. If anything what ^^^ said would be accurate, try to see if you can adjust the suspensions by the strut tower to try and raise the height. NH gets some pretty bad winters! I hate it up there lol. GL.

4" exhaust would be a sign that the car has/had an upgraded turbo to justify a 4" exhaust, so I would look into that before putting the crappy, restrictive stock exhaust back in the car. A resonator as long as it 4" ID (not to choke up the flow)
would tone down the noise quite a bit.

The car is lowered a lot, looking at the pictures. I would suggest raising it back up since the suspension geometry is most likely screwed up(subteranean roll center and excessive roll couple etc) unless the issue was adressed by the previous owner. Stock struts/shocks are not adjustable so if you are not on coilovers you need to re-think your suspension set up.
