Fng

Hello evom...

I'm the latest FNG and my name is ben. I'm a 22 year old undergrad student at THE Ohio State University (GO BUCKS)

Since my 16th birthday when I got my first car I've been into modding them and now, finally, I'm in a position to obtain my dream car: AN EVO

I've owned many cars up until now including (i'm kind of a honda guy):

'98 accord 5sp I/H/E (no pics, sorry)
'99 Integra GSR with fully built head on stock cams, full suspension, bolt ons

'92 hatch with a JDM ITR swap (ran low 13s on DR's at the track with a 1.8 60')

'99 hatch b16 swapped, built, boosted - ~450whp that GOT STOLEN

'98 civic 4dr dumped on coils, auto DD purhcased in a bind after having my baby taken from me

'00 TRD S/C'd 4Runner with 7th injector kit and chip, I/H/E 300awhp - TOTALED

Now I'm looking for an evo after an insurance settlement I got from being tboned in the 4Runner.

I look forward to learning much here and hopefully swooping on a nicely modded or stock evo from somebody here who has taken care of it as their baby, just as I will!

Thanks,

Ben

I could be wrong but they prob are the types to say that all hondas are rice.

Welcome, I still consider myself a honda guy .

Good luck in finding an Evo!

not all hondas are rice. most of them are rice. in my personal experience like 99% of the cars that have made me want to throw up from their rice-ness were hondas. they are cheap, easy to rice out, and a natural magnet for those who don't know **** about cars but want something they think can be easily made into a race car. I have seen a few nice ones, but for the most part, it's coffe can muffler's, and different colored body parts FTL!

Nice stereo type.

If my Evo ran 1/2 as good as my Hondas did, I would be a lot happier and have a lot more money in my pocket.

Welcome aboard, I am a Honda guy and a miss em dearly, every day. To own an Evo you need A LOT of patience. They are VERY needy creatures.

i definitely know what you are talking about evo's don't get riced out because the kind of people that think underbody neons and body kits and double deck aluminum wings are cool can't afford an evo although i have seen some kits on cars here that look poopy to me but to each their own.

and i like to think i keep my cars clean but you can't ever please everybody

your cars looked completely fine. quite sleeper if i may say so. and in all fairness to the honda crowd there are a pretty large number of evos that belong to people on this board that are borderline rice. Thing is most the time things on an evo like large spoiler, large loud exhaust, racing harnesses, etc are justified because a lot of people track the car and even a completely stock evo has the power to back up a "race car" type look. However, my mom's honda accord with these same mods/look to it would look just silly. Not everyone can afford an evo. I couldn't for the longest time, and to many people the equivalent is to go buy a very cheap used civic and do a bunch of exterior mods to make it look fast rather than it actually being fast. Most Hondas were not made for performance, rather economy and reliability.

it just makes me cringe when i see things like this driving around... and is a big part of why cops give people who drive Evo's so much ****!

don't listen to the clowns that doubt your taste. I had an RSX-S and I miss it all the time. I loved revving the **** out of it and the 6speed was butter smooth. I decided to be one of the greatest sons ever and give it to my dad before I even paid it off. He was in a pinch and I was feeling generous. Sometimes I wish I would have just kept it for my daily driver but oh well. good luck in your search. I'm sure you'll find a nice evo in here.
