Today might be the day!

I finally have someone coming to put a deposit on my STI. All goes as planned I will be visiting the dealer I've been talking to and driving an Evo by the end of the day.

A few questions though... My choices are an Apex Silver(Base) and a Rally Red(Aero Kit), both going for same price(desperate dealer). I'd prefer the Rally Red, but from what I understand, red cars = higher insurance. Any truth to that?

Finally, I was wondering if anyone could post a picture of a Evo with and without the Aero Kit.

Sorry if the questions have been asked, just a little excited and need to kill time at work.

not sure about the insurance
but yes is more visible
also red inspire envy
most of state patrols don't like import cars
they are more for mustangs and chargers
red is a pluss in the bad side (my 2 cents)

buy the silver
you can buy the wing later for 400..ich here or ebay

Yeah, I mean Apex Silver doesn't look bad... but it's just not as aggressive looking as the other colors.

Heres my take on the red cars. Some ins companies red is higher, others are not. Something you could do while killing time at wokr is call your ins company and ask them if their rates are higher for a red vehicle. Secondly the rally red of the new Evo X is hardly the kind of red I would say is "Attention Grabbing." Its darker kind of leaning towards maroon, but you know that youve seen it.

As for Aero kit vs. non-aero I would take the car with the aero kit. From what I have read on here it helps with avoiding rock chips in the rear quarter paint. Look it up and you'll see what I am talking about. Not to mention if they're the same price and you want the red one anyway I would totally take it with the aero pkg. That way you can save your 400$ you wouldve spent on an ebay wing +paint

I'd pick red with aero kit. the first car in the link below has the aero kit and the second one does not have it.

no. What makes you think this? If your driving like an idiot in a cobra you are just as likely to get pulled over as doing it in a evo.

Congrats. If your dealer is desperate to sell be sure he gives you as good a deal as Anaheim Mitsu. has right now. I believe their selling base GSR's in the neighborhood of $26,200. You don't get 0% financing but that is one helluva great price!

Get the Aero Kit. If you don't like it, you can sell it and pocket the change for some goodies .

Plus, as other have mentioned, the X Rally Red is a very nice red- not a bold as the red on previous Evo's.

Get the color and options you want. Insurance does not charge more for colors.

Get the RR. I don't get any attention from cops unless I deserve it. You live in Cali so....I wouldn't miss the chance to get more for your $ just because of the color. Also the insurance thing is nonsense.

I looked into the insurance thing before I got my RR Evo, it is BS from what I found out (maybe some crazy places do it). There was no higher rate on red vehicles.
