maybe a dumb question, but

i noticed my coolant was a bit low last nite

i know that there is two hoses that come from the tank, one that goes to the radiator, and the one that goes to the left, is unattached not on anything...

is this for overflow??? i never noticed this before

Yeah, it's overflow. The coolant goes right into the radiator and it overflows into the small resivoir (spell?) and any extra falls out onto the ground. My thermostat went out once and it kept dumping coolant and within 15 min my radiator was empty and all the coolant was on the ground. Had to get a new thermostat and it was all fine.
