Hi im new i have an 05 Evo 8 RS and am having some issues with it. After about 4,000 rpms the motor is making a popping sound and it kinda shakes the car. I cant seem to figure out the problem I just replaced the fuel pump and nthing seems to work. We recently looked at the mapping and everything seems fine as far as vacuum leaks and fuel delivery go. I also replaced the plugs hoping it would be that but no luck. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be?? Thanx

 

Forgot to mention my upgrades I have DC Sport Exhaust, Megan Headers, Evo 9 Turbo, 750 CC injectors, Helix 272 Cams, Samco Blow Off Valve, Walboro 255 Fuel Pump, Injen Cold Air and intercooler piping.

I cant seem to find the problem any help is greatly appreciated

 

check your plugs....brand and gap

you should probably be using NGK BPR7ES. As for the gap...start around .020 and if you dont have the issue, increase the gap. You should end around 0.023 or so

 

Does the car feel like its hesitating at all when you step on the gas? That was the problem with my car, but I replaced the plugs and it fixed the problem.

 

It sounds like the spark plugs, I had the same problem with my car.

Yeah it was the plugs the problems fixed now and yes I am tuned for all my upgrades
