Soon to be a X owner

So after much debate with myself, I am finally going to get my dream car. A Evo. Now I was going to go with the RA, but figured I would not be happy. Im looking at getting it at the end of the summer so I can save more, and sell my car. Now my question, get a left over 08 cheaper, or wait and get the 2010. I know theres no big differences, just asking

Wait for 2010, you will not regret it.

If the price is right, I would go for the 2008's. But like how dealerships are not willing to make a deal with you on them for being almost 2 years sitting on the lot, I might just take the 2010's and getting the color I want.

Keep your GTS, you have put way more money into it than anyone I have ever seen. The Evo is a toy, nothing more. At your age, insurance on the Evo X is going to rip you a new one and probably be close to if not more than the loan payment. Not to mention gas, tires, maintenance, etc... Wait until you graduate college and get decent/steady high income job and then buy your toys. I actually kinda wish I didn't buy mine now. It costs me over 1K a month and I only drive it on weekends...

May I ask why wait for 2010? Any drastic change from the 08?

Pardon my ignorance, but I searched the forum and didnt come up with any official 2010 specs.
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/se...6&pp=25&page=2

to the OP, you said it yourself that there is no difference [I have yet to see any official specs for the 2010] between 2008 and 2010. If so, I'd get the 2008 now with the 0% interest. I know, because if I wasnt closing with my second property, I'd be all over the 2008.

EDIT:

so I saw the thread from evoxforums "my friend who works for mitsu..."

The 2010 GSR upgrade is still not much for me to choose it over the 08 with 0% APR. Of course, if you are looking to get the 2010 MR Touring, you might as well wait.

No, I don't have the available time to track it at all. I just drive it when I go out on the weekends and drive my beater 50 miles to work during the week to save on gas, wear and tear, etc...on the X.

Ah, I see. Well, just do me a favor and if you buy an Evo X, don't rice it out like you did to the GTS. It makes me cringe every time I look at pics of your car. I believe the entire Evo X community would agree with me on this one.

I don't know how many times I have to say it, the graphics on the side are there bc of the messed up paint. At the time it looked the best.

You kinda need to bugger off with comments like that, plus people that live in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks.

If you don't like his car, don't read his threads. If it bugs you that much, put him on ignore.

ouch ^^, anyways to stay on point, i myself are looking to jump into an Evo very soon, by soon i mean in about 2 months or so, by then the 2010s are going to be out, if the price is right i might just jump into one, that way i get the color i want (WW, i know its played out, but its so freaking sexy), and not have to keep thinking to myself everytime i see a white evo on the net or on a street, "o i should have just waitted a couple of more months ><!! The only thing stopping me from buying an X right now (I'm 24 yrs old) is location. I'm moving in about 3 months and that's going to coincide with the 2010's arriving.

If there's an OB '08 left in the tristate area (hehehe...) I'll get it for a ridiculously low price + 0% APR. If they aren't willing to give me a good price on what people call an old *** new car, then I'll get the 2010. I don't stand to miss out on much of a deal since I can pick up the 2010 for VIP pricing/financing and still get the military+loyalty on top of that.

I say get the color you want first and foremost, get a very good deal on an '08 in the color you want, or get a brand-spankin new 2010 in the color you want from a dealer that's not marking up prices (some don't in order to push more monthly sales).

How is it played out when there has been no WW for the past 6-months in Southern California [or any other dealership]? [according to mitsusuper store] It must be rare by now...

I prefer WW as well but if I cant find one, I'd settle for a GG. The RR would be my last option

What's wrong with RR? hehe

I guess it's a matter of personal taste. Here is how I rank the X according to color (1 as my top preference):

1.) WW is the sexiest color for the X.
2.) Rally Red is sure to be the most "aggressive" color of the X (at least I think so ).
3.) Blue has the cool-factor
4.) Black is the rebel
5.) GG is for a more modern look
6.) Silver is for the classy "metallic" look
