This EVO 9
He means that the internals of the engine should be built.
I think it's built but doesn't say. I HOPE for your sake the engine is built with some VERY tough connecting rods. Also that transmission better be built too. That thing will make 900WHP on race gas for sure.
Also consider getting rid of that turbo. A GT42R is extremely laggy. Go with an HTA86 or a RED and it'll be much, much, much funner to drive on the streets.

hmm look http://www.cimotorsports.net/motor-s...o-kit-evo.html
haha
gd luck with the car
but is that your first car?
or your first experience driving a powerful 4wd
u should take it slow, or else u might not be able to handle it...
that car is no joke
it can easily kill you
just be careful and stay safe
in a side note
thats a very clean car
i would have it pressure tested and get it to a mech and check it
if the car doesnt have any problem
i say go for it

There are so many unanswered questions with a car like that. The only person I could see buying that car is a guy with a lot of extra cash to throw around who has another DD.
That's a weekend track car. It is a TRACK car. It is no toy
NO offense at all when I say this, but if you are asking these types of questions a car like this is not for you.
If it's pushing around 600whp on the stock bottom end that's absurd and you should absolutely not buy it. You can hit that level on the stock internals but its not gonna last, especially if you drive it like its built to be driven

Man honestly, going from a lancer to a 600+whp Evo is probably not the wisest choice. Its going to be a lot more power than you're used to. The 42R is terribly laggy for a DD. Stock bottom end won't be very reliable for long. Cost of maintenance is another story. Ultimately the decision is yours. G/L!
I don't know about you guys, but it seems to me that this car has a GT42R turbo on it to say that it has a GT42R turbo on it. This car was not built properly for that kind of turbo and problems down the road, very soon in fact seem imminent. Find a stock evo and mod it yourself, it's very rewarding and you'll know exactly how the car was treated

if this is a straight up purchase, then yes. if it breaks down the road, you can just sell it. but trading the plymouth prowler for this may not be a good choice.
I really agree with the guys saying its not a toy. I drag race a 550+hp coronet that runs 11.8's and the stock IX I just got surprised the hell out of me. No way I would ever DD a 600hp evo.
Evo is my first awd car and my first turbo vehical, even with my hundreds of passes at the strip I think a stock evo is crazy. But do as you wish. Oh and since your dad is doing this I assume your pretty young, When I was building my 440 at age 16 my dad used to joke about how he was gunna remove the back two plug wires so I wouldent kill myself

If you don't have that much money to spare that flavor of evo is NOT for you. That thing may be low mileage but its making well over 100% of its stock power level. You don't know the quality of work and you don't know what is going to break first. I can guarantee you something WILL break though. Maintenance on a car like that is completely different. You are probably using special spark plugs, quicker oil change intervals, heavy duty clutches that will have to be replaced sooner etc...

so where's the rules that say you can't have a 600hp car as a DD car?
jw, cause if you don't push it to the limit everyday, it should be fine?
Fast cars are fine for a DD but you need to look at reliability and alot of other factors. I think someone higher up called this car a weekend and track day car. But in the end its your money and your choice. I dont know how reliable a 600hp evo with stock internal are but if you do break it your buying a bus pass or hitch hiking with a "wont kill you" sign.
