Finally got Evo in, concern over mileage
My loaded Evo from New York finally got delivered. We were told initially about a month ago that it had 20 miles on the odometer. The papers came in a few weeks later and it was even listed at 15 miles on the odo.
It comes in yesterday and I see ~169 miles on the odo. I talk to the dealership now and (why I wasn't explained this thoroughly before I don't know) am told that when the car was sent for inspection and whatnot, there were sensor problems from sitting for so long, so the car had to be driven and tested thoroughly to open everything up and fix it. 150 miles is a lot to me, is this legit right here?
The car seems to drive decently now and I don't see any immediately big problems (other than the stereo being seriously quiet; the volume at full intensity sounds only as loud as our other GSR's SSS at half intensity, wtf?). It definitely needs a wash but I don't think I can get it in the driveway without popping the front lip off. I'm also scared to drive around too much before I can clear bra or mudflap it in fear of rock chips.

screw the rock chips, a bra will cost 500+ and u will still get chips beyond whats covered by the bra, just get a respray in 3-4 years. im sure they had to drive it some to do the stuff they mentioned, dont worry about it, its all under warranty if u ever had problems, maybe if someone didnt know how to drive stick they could have done some clutch damage, but chances are its fine
For new Evos yes. For 8/9 (think 7 too), it's 5/60 bumper to bumper. Just about every Evo has up to 200 miles on it. Sorry but this, along with about every sports cars, will get beat on before it's sold and f you taking it in for work.

Stop whining. If it is that big of a deal ask them to take a bit of the pricing off.
Depending on where you buy your evo and the standards of that dealership determines how well they take care of it, and the miles they put on it. I bought my 06 IX in November 06 with 12 miles and my 08 X with 7 miles, right off the truck. My dealership reserves one car for test driving, and sells the rest with as close to 0 miles as possible. The NY dealership may have used if for test driving. oh well you'll live.

Same here. Mine was in the low 150's when I bought it. Considering how many people on here have given the same number, that must be what the dealers are allowed to put on a 'new' car and still have it be considered new.

Joy riders at the dealership.
There is no test drive procedure that requires 150 miles to complete.
call them on their BS and get dollars off or a free first oil change or something.
It was probably beat hard but that may be a good thing, some sources say a hard break in is necessary to properly seat the rings.
