need some help with my evo IX

I have an evo IX 2007 },I bought it brand new,I did some changes with the brakes,I explain, metal fluids brake lines,DBA 4000 rotors, yellow stufff brake pads,The car brakes very well,But i have a big problem,When you hit the brakes at high speed from 80 KPH to 0 KPH it makes a noice on the front,Sounds like the hub bearings,My question is: Since i made the brake changes above explained,Because of the heat do you think the bearing could have gone bad,Do you know if this happen to some body before,And if the bearings are bad,Is there some good quality bearings better than the original mitsubishi bearing?

Hi javici69,

Sorry for taking so long to get to you on this but we've had some trouble posting on the forum. Hope its not too late...

Some questions to help us advise what best to do, was the noise present the moment you fitted the brakes or did it develop over a short period of time?

It is not uncommon for slotted rotors to make a buzzing sound during hard braking. This is actually normal and is caused by the slots passing the pads.
If the noise didn’t occur the moment the brakes were fitted then you need to get the car looked at by your local workshop.

You might also like to have a look at some of the tech we've posted on this sort of stuff at the tech forum we help out on here.

Anyway, let me know any more info you have and we'll get back to you.

Regards
DBA Steve

I fitted slotted/drilled on mine and noticed the same thing. As already stated I think it's just certain rotors that do this. It's strange though because my stoptechs slotted rotors on my gc8 doesn't do this. You might just want to check your bearings anyway since it's easy to check but I doubt that is it since your car is still fairly new.

problems with my manual transmition

Hello there
i have an evo IX with 20000 kilomiters,I was driving at high speed, i was down shifting, when i got to 2nd gear, it just would not go in, all the others 1st, 3er,4 and 5 gears are ok. another thing 2nd gear has gone in about 5 times only,Can somebody tell me if this transmition problem has happen to somebody?,Can somebody tell me if it is the synchronysed bronce of 2nd gear,Or, since 2cn has gone in 5 times could be something wrong with the shifting mechanison inside the transmition.
