Hood Vent Cover

I was just wondering should i cover my hood vent? it is supposed to snow 28 inches and i didnt want snow goin down in there. I covered it up just in case but i just wanna know what some other ppl think. thanks for the help inadvanced

My thought is that it doesnt hurt anything for moisture to get in the engine bay, especially in the area directly under the vent (assuming stock parts). Still, the moisture will cause surface rust (non-damaging) on the ex. manifold, so covering it could keep that from happening and cleaner in general.
