has anyone had thier CEL turn on after the install of any of the header?...which ones...and how did you get rid of itim thinking about buying headers soon...but i need to know what problems i am going to come accross

 

Hey I never had headers on my lancer when I had it, but they where advertising CEL disablers, use the search button, I think the company was called LP perfomance.

 

ILP is out of buisness. search for cel fix. cel comes with removal of the first catalytic converter (replaced with header). i've had my cel on for almost a year now.

 

i have the kamikaze header + downpipe, and no cel. you shouldn't have to worry about it cause the O₂ sensor is threaded into the header. the only time u might experience some cel problems is if u put in a test pipe or hi-flo cat.

 

cus im onlyt hinking of gettting the header no downpipe think that would be a problem?

 

I don't have yhe cel on and my K.H.'s are doing just fine, I didn't even have to install the mil eliminator

any header out right now will toss a cel eventually may not right away, your 2 o2 sensors will be reading to close that will show a code of cat not working right or something and will toss the cel

 

at www.bigjoshracing.com they have something called a MIL Elimenator and it will make it so the CEL wont come on I believe.

 

just a header will not work with kamikaze, the flange is different from the stock downpipe. trust me, you want the downpipe. when you put your new downpipe on, you will see how ridiculous the stock downpipe is.

 

fixing the CEL should be pretty simple.

Wire an extentsion on to your O2 sensor, have an exhaust shop put in a threaded tap AFTER the second catalytic, put your O2 in there, no CEL.
