Daiy Driven Evo

Hello, I've been hanging around for a little while, and am now getting sereous about purchasing and evo. Probably gonna be an 8. This is going to be my only car and a daily driver. Probably about 80 miles a day. What can I expect as far as how long the car will last. Can I expect a relatively trouble free 150K? I'm expecting purchasing something with very minor mods like an exhaust and tune.

I know I saw someone with 200k on the odo, just wondering if that is normal. Thanks.

In the past, I've owned several DSM turbo's and 944 turbo's and just changed the clutch in my FWD turbo laser, so I can do basic maintenance. I just wanna know how long the car will last. Thanks.

With proper care and maintenance and as long as you don't beat on it (too much), there's no reason you couldn't get 150k on the clock. You'll want to make sure the Evo you buy has been properly taken care of, naturally.

When I bought mine, I was told it wouldn't last.

Just make sure you get someone to check it out before you buy it.

Good luck.

Make sure if doesn't have too many mods and look to see if things have been tampered with. I bought my evo for cheap because the kid before me tried wiring up things and he had no idea what he was doing. You can walk into a real mess trying to figure out what other were doing. I am still trying to figure out his mess.

If you can find one fully stock, that mostly means the owner didn't really abuse the car.

Taking care of it and maintenance are the real keys to a long lasting car. Don't beat the hell out of it and if a problem arises fix it right away with quality parts. If you decide to mod your car just make sure you research what the good parts are and make sure your car is always properly tuned.

I drove mine 120 miles, 5 days a week for 3 years and no problems. Changed the oil every 5k miles and made sure I was current with maintenance. Just don't beat the **** out of it all the time and you will be fine. I have 112k miles now and still runs like a champ
