Turbo Timer! (and air filter) recommendations

Hey guys, I'm about to get my first EVO; a used 05 base, and it doesn't have a turbo timer installed. So, I am looking for recommendations: greddy, hks, etc. I dont know if i want the display separately so, maybe greddy is the way to go lol. I was thinking of just buying it online, and then taking it to a shop for installation? I'm kinda scared on doing the installation on my own and if its easy or not. Also, i would like to know how much installation would cost roughly. I will post pictures of my evo in a couple of weeks when I get it probably. Oh, and another thing. It needs a new air filter. recommendations on that? Drop in vs. high performance (k&n)..idk.. im a noob, remember? Thanks!

I like the HKS turbo timer.. But I was told to keep it cheap and simple, don't boost 5 mins before you come to your dest. Installing shouldn't be too hard.. They come with instructions....

In terms of air filter, I got an K&N open element.. But I recommend getting the AMSOil open element.

Turbo timer install is simple be sure to get a harness. Definitely something you should do yourself. Use the cash you save on the install to buy your drop in filter, I would go with an amsoil filter if they make one in a stock size

Most of my friends use Greddy and thats the turbo timer i would go with. If you wanted to be on the safe side, since your scared to install by yourself, then buy onee and take it to a shop. the best thing you could do about prices is just look up a shop close to you or one that is recominded and talk to them about installs, price, and any other questions you have. hopes this helps =)
