new to the forum, thinking of upgrading to a Mitsu Evolution X gsr
Hey guys,
I'm considering trading in my 7 yo sooby wrx bugeye for a 2010 Evo X gsr sometime in the near future. The sooby EJ engine has been riddled with too many issues as of late (*cough* *cough* ringland seal problem) and my bugeye has a glass box of a tranny.
A few of reasons I'm considering switching over to the mitsu:
1. the EJ series isn't as reliable as they once were
2. the boxer engine (although it has it's benefits -- "boxer growl"
) is a ***** to work on -- GBOD anyone?
3. the EJ257/257 internals are not as strong - so it seems - as the 4B11 internals
Curious, though, how much torque can the GSR 5-speed tranny reliably hold? The STi tranny is near bulletproof in comparison.
I love my bugeye, but she's getting up there in age and miles. What's the thought? Has anyone gone from driving a bugeye to driving an Evo X?
