catback pipe sizing for 03' ES??
catback pipe sizing for 03' ES??
Hey ppl
really unsure on what pipe size for a cat back i should put on my ES. Dont really plan on putting any future mods except for changing the air filter. I Just want a little extra power in between the 2-4rpm rev range. By getting a 2.25" will i get a lag in power in the low end?
thanks in advance for your advice guys!

C'mon Andrew It's 1 7/8" ID. Giving measurements of piping OD is silly especially if you are trying to get an accurate figure for volume. Not that anyone cares about figuring the exhaust volume for a catback anyway. But standard measurements for piping and tubing and hoses is ID.
If you're just putting an intake on the front, I would save some cash and just get an awesome sounding muffler. That will reduce your backpressure enough to get some gains, and a catback won't be all that much better with the rest of the restrictions on the cats, exhaust manifold, intake manifold, and throttle body.

i will most likely end up getting a high flow cat a while after i get the cat back.
do u guys know if i will get a loss in lower end power if i go for a 2.25'? would i even get an increase in power from just a catback exhaust?
If some ppl can let me know how they have went after installing a 2.25" catback that would be great..thnx
