Hey all,

I've been in the market for an evo for a long time. I've finally situated myself to make a purchase soon, but am having problems finding one that suits my wants. I've been really picky with my search, but Have come across an '05 with the SSL package. Im not a fan of the leather seats, which I would trade out for the stock recaros... But im more interested in the affects of the sunroof. This might sound ridiculous, but does anyone think that having the sunroof takes away from the structural integrity of the car? Meaning making it maybe a little less rigid, or weaker at all?

also taking a look at the image below, I can see the driver's side of the front bumper is sagging a bit, or maybe the hood looks like its not aligned properly. Is there a common bumper sag issue with these cars? or something that I should just look at in person? the reason why I ask, its about a 3 hour road trip from me, before I run a carfax, or drive up there, maybe I could get some insight from ya'lls! Thanks!

 

Mine sits flush as all hell, something fishy is up with that one... I havent looked at mine personally, but their are usually little rubber dampeners that can be twisted to adjust the hood height. You might try that and see if it fixes it.

looks like the right side of the hood is pushed up try adjusting the rubber mount down some

 

Something is not right. The driver's side is almost flush with the fender. The gap is too close. Do the carfax and maybe it was in a front ender. Note aftermarket intercooler also.

06 evo ix mr here... with the non-leather seats. I will gladly trade you for the seats if they are in similar mint condition. pm me =)

 

called mitsubishi, they said there was no warranty claims over the life of the vehicle. But they also said that when the car was brought in for service, they had branded the title "modified", so that could also be the reason.

Does anyone have any carfax accounts they could help me out with? I'm hopefully going to look at it this weekend

I'm sure the seats aren't in as good of shape as yours, the car has about 50k miles on it. So if I look at it, I will take some pics and send them your way. I'm probably going to look into a full interior swap with the front/rear seats, and door panels eventually.

Judging from the pic, I would say it has had some front end damage in the past.

 

If you ever get this car make sure to hit me up cuz those headlights looks rediculus and i have a clean stock ix headlights to trade

 

car fax came up clean from the dealership, so as far as I can tell, there isnt anything as far as accidents. Im thinking maybe the orig owner might have swapped out the hood before trade in or something. The dealer did say that It was in the body shop getting the rear wing clear coated because it was starting to flake... is that common?

does anyone have any comments about the sun roof affecting chassis strength at all?

 

Accidents are not always reported..... I would have it looked at by a body shop or something. The IC is ****-eyed as well. The dealer might not even know the past of this car, but i sure as hell would keep looking for a clean "mint" one if i were you.

 

I'll trade door panels with you if you're interested? I have the suede/alacantra/cloth (or whatever they are) in my evo ix mr se

i'll even give u a little extra if you'd like since i'd really like the leather door panels.
