Sticker on the IX SE was somewhere between $33-34k, but I got mine for $29.5k, plus fees. I don't remember the exact sale price since it was a while ago. I owe maybe $1500 on it by now.

You got yours for ~2K less than mine. I thought about buying one from SCM. Once I considered the shipping costs and put a value on examining/driving the car, beforehand, as I was buying it as a keeper, it didn't make sense to try and save a few hundred bucks. IIRC, I paid ~$32K with the optional gauge package.

how have you not done anything to it yet after that long?? if i had more money to mod i would have so much more done right now than bolt ons.

to OP
i bought my car when i was 19 and didn't know how to drive a manual either. you'll be fine. Just focus on affording the car before you even think about modding. and also never put modding before taking care of the car.

I had already owned another Evo before this one (though that one was also still bone stock when I got rid of it) and was already into my mid-twenties when I bought it. I got a lot of modding out of my system with the Honda that I drove throughout high school and most of college, plus being between jobs when I got this Evo restricted my budget to installments and gas. I've had no need to make the car faster.

Why not just drive the MR2 around until you get sick of it and save up money. Is the MR2 turbo? 2 of my friends got it and let me play around with it. I wanted one of those so bad in high school, but never got it. It was pretty fast at that time. Thats well over 10 years ago.
Just dont be in a rush to buy and dont buy one just because the price is right. My advice to you is pay more for the one that you REALLY want.
Be patience and you will get a good one. I looked around for 6 months and finally got it.
Have fun with your search.
