I plan to own one by the end of the year(if I can find a job before summer ends) Im 17 but turning 18 this saturday[July 17th] and getting back into cars. Anyway, welcome to forums... and I hope you make a lot of money if you plan on getting an Evo. They're not cheap in anyway, until you look at the performance per dollar ratio. Everything else is pretty pricey for anyone who isn't well off.

 

I know thier alot and maintainging it if I do end up putting more parts in it is gunna be risky too but If I can afford the parts imma be puttin em on my whip haha.

My brother used to have srt 4 so I know thiers gunna be money problems when I do have enough to buy an evo.

 

Trust me, doing the same stuff to an Evo will cost a lot more.

 

i beleave you, My pops always told me my brother was gunna have problems with his srt cause of money issues, but like I said, If I can afford it I want it. Until than I'm just here to learn basics about racing cars.

Work on affording the car first, then worry about mods. Otherwise you're just daydreaming.

 

As of right now no, like i said in my first post, when i can get some income I plan to own one by the end of the year. For now I just wanna learn.

 

That's fine. But for your first lesson, should you go down the path and buy an Evo, do NOT mod right away. Chances are, you're doing it just for kicks while not even pushing a stock car within 50% of its limits. Trust me.

 

yea bro thanx for the advice. Before i joined this site I was pretty much like everyother person wanting a car to race "ohhh i wanna get a blah blah and put this and that", after reading that guide to evo modding for beginners, I realized I am gunna have too keep the car however I get it(If I happened to find one that's already modded), So I can get used to it... sadly I still need to learn how to drive manual, but my dad's gunna let me use our toyota mr2 for that .

Like with any other car, just learn it first. Let me put it like this... I've owned my current Evo IX SE (though I had another Evo before it) since it was brand new off the showroom floor in February 2007, and 40 months and 33k miles later, it's still completely bone stock, and I don't feel the need to upgrade anything.

 

I feel whatchu saying... i've done my research and I know stock the evo is a pretty beast car imo. How much did you pay for yours off the showroom floor? I've heard of some evo's being like 40k on showroom floor?
