Hey names Hai. Been a DSM guy for awhile, then went to boosted Hondas. Now I'm trying to get back into the Mitsu scene and looking for an Evo 9. I do have two question that I'm pretty sure i can search, but why do people tell me the six speed suck? And my goals for the car is auto-cross n time attacks so would getting a MR be ok?

 

The problem with the mr 6 speeds is that they are not as strong as the 5 speed. If you plan on modding your car, which i guess you will be doing since you mentioned autocrossing, then i would go with a five speed.

 

Imo the mr is not worth it, 5 speed tranny can handle more and obviously the gears are taller. If you find a good deal on one I would say go for it but I wouldnt look specifically for one. As long as its an evo its good in my book, and welcome!

 

That and shorter gearing will help on the track

When you go to get this car picking it up take yoru time. Alot of people as with turbo cars seem to run these cars intot he ground before they sell them.

Also do not be ripped off dont show the sellers at the dealer lot if your are getting it from them as if your excited as hell hold it in and check out the cars actual value. Because alot of people tend to jack up the price just because.
