HID= High Intensity Discharge (lol...no jokes). It's a term for really powerful headlights that people associate with that really bright white or blue color. Moving this to the n00b forum.
but so its nothing like projectors?

I've always associate projectors as simply being lights that have each bulb in it's own housing nacelle. I'm sure there are HID projectors which would simply be projectors with HID equipment.
