Just bought my new EVO!!!

Cheers! Just bought my new Evo today! I still am in shock! I will be picking it up tomorrow afternoon. What a good Thanksgiving present to myself! It's Apex Silver w/ sunroof and big spoiler. I got them to give me the blue shifter knob/parking brake grip/pedals, as well as the door sill scuff plates at my negotiated price. So, as soon as they arrive at the dealer I'll be putting them in.

Has anyone else moved from a VR-4 to an EVO? What'd you think?

Thanks guys. I'll be picking the car up this afternoon sometime, so I'll take some pre-delivery pics and then post them up when I get the chance.... which might be a while with all the driving around I'll be doing!

(And def. congrats to Nas on the baby... I'm trying to hold that one off a bit longer! )

Here are some pics as asked for. Not very good... been concentrating more on driving. Of course better ones will come later.

Congrats on the EVO! I used to have a 91 VR4 and the EVO would run circles around it. Being about 1000 lbs lighter is the main advantage of course, but the handling seems quite a bit better if you can believe it. The good thing about the VR4 was it's power above 80MPH, but with some easy mods I expect this to become a non-issue as well on the EVO. Good luck and be careful at first, you can oversteer easily since it's more responsive than a VR4.

Thanks for the welcome! I do love how great the EVO feels in comparison to my old VR-4. It just makes my old VR-4 just seem so tired. I have been careful with the Evo. I have almost 1000 miles now, though, so I am starting to feel a bit more comfortable with it. Still not going crazy with it, though.

Congrats on the EVO. Now all you need to blow everybody else off the road who may challenge you is the following (You're going to thank me for this advice):
A K&N drop in filter
An HKS 2.5" downpipe
A cat delete pipe with an O2 simulator
HKS 3" Hyper exhaust
HKS electronic boost controller
And most important get the Dynoflash from Pruven Performance... Talk to Big Al he knows EVOs very well.

I have the same setup and I'm running low 12s in the quartermile. Can't beat that for the money.

Thanks for the advice! I'll be saving it on my comp. For now the Evo is going to remain stock. At least until I can't take it anymore.
