Do I need to check the transaxle fluid?

Hey all, I'm new to all this as you can see from my previous post. I'm starting a new thread on this one because I know how easily people can get off topic

I just checked all my fluids on my new 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer, OZ Rally and noticed that you need to check the automatic transaxle fluid but there is no mention of what to do if it isn't an automatic! I have a manual transmission and couldn't find anything near the air intake to check the fluid level of.

There's a reference to manual transaxle on the next page but it only says "whenever the manual transaxle oil level is checked..." and never tells you how to check it.

Can anyone enlighten me as to how you check it?

Thanks

Stephen

I think the manual also says the manual transaxle fluid doesn't need to be checked for like 60,000 miles or seomthing like that. I'd jsut wait and have a professional do it.
