New guy here with a VIII

Hey just got my Evo 8 at the end of November and love it. It came with an Invidia TBE and a GFB blow off valve also a power added cone filter. The mods I've bought so far are Kelford 272's, BC valve springs, FMIC+piping, HKS type 1 turbo timer, LC1 wideband, Autometer 30+/- boost vac gauge, ATi Epod, megan o2 housing, Kenobi 100cpsi metal core cat, Hallman pro MBC, 1200cc PTE injectors, and a Walbro 255lph.

Thinking about getting a megan exhaust manifold any naysayers for that product Im on a budget so its that or a ebay knock off any naysayers of this mod/brand? Also are those silicone intake hoses worth it? Thanks in advance for some good advice!

Welcome to the site and congrats on the VIII, you're gonna love it!!! As far as your mods go, a lot of people recommend staying away from the Megan style manifolds cuz they tend to crack over time. A better option is to get your stock manifold ported. It'll hold up better and net you similar power gains.

Congrats on the VIII. I have to agree with the manifold comment. I have a ported stocker and im very happy with it. You may want to look into that.

welcome and congrats on the pick up. you got some nice parts and are well on your way. any pics of the car?

i will throw in a third vote to stay away from the megan. never had one, but for around the same price (or cheaper) you can have PPI port and coat your stocker. much stronger and similar power gains.

Agreed with the members above. Get a ported stock exhaust manifold, there are some used ones for sale on this site. Either that or get a stock one and get it ported yourself. Should be as cheap or if not cheaper.

Silicone intake hoses are good with Tclamps if you are having stock intercooler piping blow off when you get in boost.
