Evo reliability?
I had been on this site for a while and had already owned a Ralliart previous to buying my EVO. When I did get the EVO I was surprised how little I actually knew about the car. Got a killer price, under 40k miles at the time, and the interior/exterior were in good shape.
Little did I know the issues I was about to run into.
Ended up having to replace the clutch and flywheel (Got broken into at the dealership while waiting on that, long story)
Had to replace pads, rotors, lines, and fluids
Replaced linkage bushings and shifter base bushings (while I was at it)
Replaced clutch line
Had a blown turbo housing gasket
3rd gear was chewed up, shifting fork was also messed up (had to fight to find reverse)
HKS BOV that the previous owner had installed was giving me so much grief, but he lost the stocker, FML
When I decided to get rid of it, it still needed tires, a proper BPV, new passenger side headlight housing, and a tune. Even with all of that, the car ran great and was very dependable, and was simple to maintain.

ive seen alot of high mileage evos in good shape........evos are the same as regular cars....just take care of it and it will do the same to you
I will be buying all AMSoil, from my current research it looks like that is what everyone uses. And I plan on doing whatever it takes to make this car last me a long time, while still having some fun with it.

Since you're new, let's nip this in the bud right now. Amsoil is not produced/manufactured by AMS. It's its own company. Welcome to the forum and good luck.
Some people make think their oil is better or what is the best (they may be right) but I don't think I've ever heard anything bad about Amsoil. So you can't go wrong with going that route. Pm apagan01 (I think that is his name) and he will hook you up with what you need
If you decide to run a turbo from FP, do some more research because they actually have a list of recommended oils to run with their turboes

I laughed my *** off when my wife asked me if they were the same company... then I stopped and thought about it because I never noticed the similarity in names.

And I will be sure to do that. I'd love to run an Fp one day, hopefully in the near future. Thanks for the links! Your guys here sure are helpful.
