Hey, I'm new to this forum. What do all of you think of the Evo. 9 MR SE?
Colors, performance, daily driving, ect.
I'll be looking to buy a WW Evo. 9 MR SE within' the next year, yes I know long timebut i told myself I should start looking now! Also, how much do you think a good MR SE with less than 50k miles should run? I'v seen them on Autotrader for like 30k and that just seems a bit high to me for a 5 year old car.

SE's only comes in Silver, Gray and Black. The only thing different about an SE compared to an MR is the diamond-black BBS wheels, red stitches to the seats and the SE lip.

 

you really should be waiting till your ready to buy as you could get lucky and find a major deal which do happen often. The only knock you will find agains the MR edition is the weak 6 speed tranny stock. If you plan to do any type of racing get the 5 speed but dont forget sheptrans now ofters built 6speed packages so you can always go that route

 

Really?! that sucks because I love the red stitched Recaro's but oh well. I'm wanting a white or red MR I don't plan on changing colors just for some seats and a lip. Thank you for the information but the only difference on the BBS's are the color?
And RockManX do you think the stock 6spd could handle between 400-500hp? That's as high as I want to go because I don't really plan on racing it just maybe dragging a couple times a year at the local strip and going to meets whenever possible.

LOL again if you plan on doing any type of racing then GET A 5 Speed period OR go and get shepstrans to rebuild the 6 speed which will cost some coin for real. Something you never considered is you could just get a evo 9 SE and get your colored seats rims and 5 speed trans. can a MR handle 450-500 of course it can the engineblock is the same but the trans is where your problem could come in at now can you have that power and be fine of course its all in how you race you car . Dragging you will be lanunching your car often enough to warrent breaking the trans of a 6speed unless its built.

 

I would look for an SE...not an MR. Especially if you wanna make that much power and do some drag racing. And yes, Shep makes a 6spd package now but that will not be cheap cause he has to do even more work to that trans than the standard 5spd trans. And changes out the final drive.
