So after being a complete dumb*** and naturally locking my car when I get out of it (don't have a remote) I locked my car with the keys inside and the car while it was still running.

Anyway I know our keys are programmed and all that stuff but I never got a spare, and I was wondering do our keys need to be programmed to just unlock the car? and if not could I just go to Ace Hardware and have them cut me a spare?

 

nope,they can unlock the car but not start it

one of my keys went bad but it still opens the car

 

It should unlock the car fine.just wont start it...get the Vin off the car and go to a place that can make keys from the vin # good luck

 

Thanks guys I think I'll go get a spare for just the locks today. I would love to go to a dealership and spend $200+ for a key and mabye a remote but the closest dealership to me is 2 1/2 hours away.
