Looking at a 2005 Evo VIII, input please!
Hello Everyone! This is my first post here on, and it all starts with a few questions. I am looking at (truth be told i'm 95% sure I will buy it) a 2005 Wicked White Evo VIII. It has 67k miles, bone stock, SSL package... everything looks great. The dealer even replaced the clutch for me. I was wondering if I could get some experienced input on this particular car? Here is a quick list of questions, and help will be much appreciated.

*i will be getting black wheels for the car, so the rims won't be the same*
1. 67k miles, is that acceptable (assuming the car is in good condition)?
2. I drive about 65 miles per day, is mileage going to be an issue? Reliability?
I live in Charlotte, NC and currently drive a 2008 350z... but am looking to get something 4 doors/seats and an upgrade in performance. I plan on keeping the car pretty much stock until I get it paid off, so it will be a few years for the mods.
Thanks for the input guys!

Price is a bit high, looks decent though.
That's a lot of miles a day, do you really want to commute with an Evo? Normally a pretty uncomfortable ride with exhaust, poly mounts, usually lowered. You probably won't like it much.
I bought my 05 AS evo with the same exact mileage and then bought an older (2001) bmw 3 series as a DD. That way I don't have to listen to loud exhaust and feel stiff suspension everywhere I go.
I think that price is a bit high though. That's a $15k car.

Yeah, I will have to make the decision about comfort during the test drive tomorrow... but I am used to cars with firmer rides (mileage is 80% highway anyway).
NADA clean retail on the car is $20,400, and i figured that combined with the fact that he had a new clutch put in the price was pretty close to what i would expect. It is one of the least expensive evo's in my area (zip 28216).
My other options for cars would be a 2010 VW GTI or Mazdaspeed3. I know the VW would be a good combo of performance and comfort, but I've always wanted an Evo and I'm a little worried about VW reliability.
Thanks a ton for the advice!
